The Surface Ocean – Lower Atmosphere Study (SOLAS) Summer School is tailored to multi- and interdisciplinary students and early career marine and atmospheric scientists with the goal to provide a multidisciplinary air-sea interaction background to the next generation of Earth System scientists. To date, SOLAS has organised eight international Summer Schools (in Corsica, France, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2018; in Xiamen, China, 2013; and online, 2022), involving 540 international students.

The 9th Summer School will take place on 5-16 June 2023 at the Ocean Science Centre Mindelo, Cape Verde. To apply for the Summer School 2023, please use the provided form here (https://melmeeting.xmu.edu.cn/medialab/ASSS2023.docx). The application form should be returned as PDF to solas-school@geomar.de by 25 November 2022, and successful candidates will be contacted by the end of January 2023.

“表层海洋-低层大气研究”计划（Surface Ocean - Lower Atmosphere Study，SOLAS）于2004年正式启动，是由国际海洋研究委员会（SCOR）、未来地球计划（Future Earth）、世界气候研究计划（WCRP）和国际大气化学与全球污染委员会（iCACGP）协同下的一个大型核心科学计划。SOLAS研究海洋与大气间的生物地球化学与物理过程和机理，揭示海洋-大气圈层相互作用对气候和环境变化的影响和反馈。

SOLAS国际暑期学校致力于为全球海洋和大气科学领域的研究生及青年科学家提供海-气交换、生物地球化学与物理过程及其响应相关研究的系统理论与实践课程。首届暑期学校于2003年在法国科西嘉岛举办，迄今为止，SOLAS已成功举办8届国际暑期学校（2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2018年于法国科西嘉岛；2013年于中国厦门；2022年于线上举办）。

第九届SOLAS国际暑期学校将于2023年6月5日—6月16日在非洲佛得角举办。该暑期学校由SOLAS主办，佛得角明德罗海洋科学中心承办。申请者可登录SOLAS网站(https://www.solas-int.org/events/summer-school-22-23/in-person-summer-school-23.html)或扫描下方二维码下载填写暑期学校申请表，并将完整填写的申请表以PDF格式发送至国际组委会邮箱：solas-school@geomar.de。所有申请需在2022年11月25日前完成提交。SOLAS将在2023年1月底前公布申请结果。
